OPTIC Lab Innovation Fellow, Almiqdad Saeed, showcased a poster at the American Academy of Ophthalmology 2025. Titled "A Proof-of-Concept Base Model for Automated Corneal Endothelial Cell Analysis via Specular Microscopy Images," the study demonstrates the feasibility of AI to assist in corneal graft evaluation.
As an Innovation Fellow in the OPTIC Lab at Penn Medicine, I recently had the privilege of attending the American Academy of Ophthalmology Conference. I attended cutting-edge lectures and symposiums focused on innovation and teleophthalmology, which offered me the opportunity to engage with industry leaders and experts, exchanging insights on the latest trends in the field. I also gained hands-on experience with advanced ophthalmic devices, further expanding my knowledge and skills.
In addition, I joined several meetings for our ongoing projects and collaborations. This experience was both inspiring and invaluable, reinforcing my dedication to innovation in eye care.
