About Us

Research, develop and implement tele-ophthalmology and other innovations in the U Penn Department of Ophthalmology and the University of Pennsylvania Health System, improving access to eye care, expanding therapeutic and preventive eye care services and pioneering blindness prevention. 

To achieve successful, effective and efficient implementation of tele-ophthalmology and other innovations, expanding ophthalmology services, transforming the delivery of eye care, programming a model for blindness prevention by achieving leadership in patient care, research, education and advocacy in the cause of blindness prevention. Such implementation shall include, among others, the interconnectivity of the Department of Ophthalmology to the primary care clinics, urgent care centers, emergency rooms, tele-medicine stations, and nursing homes.
