Contribute to the Build-out of the Mobile Unit

To expand access to eyecare, we are developing a teleophthalmology mobile unit that will tour the Philadelphia area to screen individuals for eye diseases. Residents can walk up to the van without an appointment, be screened free of charge, and receive an immediate diagnosis. This mobile unit helps bridge some gaps in care, as it has shown promising results in screening a large proportion of patients who had not received an eye examination in two or more years and detecting eye conditions that require an ophthalmologist's care. We are currently in the buildout phase—constructing the van and acquiring essential equipment to launch this service. Please consider contributing to this vital initiative by making a gift to the Scheie Eye Mobile Unit Fund at this link to help us bring eyecare where it’s needed most.
