Support the Mobile Unit Operations

To expand access to eyecare, the Penn Department of Ophthlamology launched the Scheie in MOTION mobile eye unit in September 2026. Community members can walk up to the van without an appointment, be screened free of charge, and receive an immediate diagnosis via teleconsultation at no cost.

Now that the mobile unit is on the road, your support can help sustain this free service for the communities we serve. Donations to the Scheie Eye Mobile Unit Fund help support the ongoing costs of operating the mobile unit, including clinical staff, drivers, security, medical supplies, equipment, and transportation.
